How you’ll make an impact
The SEO team is responsible for the organic growth expansion of Xero.com across all search engines. SEO is a key growth channel for Xero, attracting millions of sessions a month. In this role, youʼll contribute to the long term expansion of free traffic, and the successful acquisition for new Org & Partner subscriptions driven by the channel. Leveraging your experience in technical SEO, CMS management, and your understanding of on-page SEO and content development , you’ll drive predictable long term impact by ensuring high quality content is accessible to users on Google and beyond.
What you’ll do
- You will be reporting to the SEO Operations Lead and working closely with an SEO Manager to deliver the Technical SEO strategy.
- Monitoring crawl reports and implement updates and fixes to improve crawling and indexing
- Broken link reclamation and redirects
- Supporting in internal linking delivery and optimizations
- Supporting in schema markup implementation and updates on new and existing content types
- Support in SEO deep dives to diagnose performance issues and create actions to address them
- Working within our CMS to update existing pages and make on page optimisations.
- Constantly look for ways of improving our effectiveness and efficiencies to support in achieving our SEO goals and KPIs.
- Use your expertise in Google Analytics and SEO reporting tools to pull insights and make tactical recommendations.
- Support on ad-hoc SEO projects
Success looks like
As an SEO team, we have business KPI’s we are working to achieve. The SEO Technical Specialist contribution to these will be measured against set asks quarterly in the number of optimizations and fixes completed.
What you’ll bring with you
Critical competencies:
- Hands on, technical understanding of SEO
- Previous experience working with a CMS
- Strong communication skills
- Curious mind and passion for learning and experimentation
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience:
- Bachelor degree
- 2 years + of SEO experience or a similar role in the content marketing or content management space
- Hands on experience using SEO performance tracking tools, Google Analytics and Search Console
- Previous exposure at the tech/SaaS company with complex funnels is preferred but not essential
